Portraiture: It's all about you.

In the early days when I had a studio in Connecticut, I had a reputation for black & white photography primarily because most photographers in the region only shot in color. It has been a favorite medium ever since. And, as you can see, I also shoot in color.

And, here's the thing. I confess to being forever "under the influence" as it were, of the photographers I have always admired, and on whose shoulders I stand today, including Irving Penn, Dorothea Lange, Arnold Newman, Margaret Bourke-White, Yousuf Karsch, Edward Steichen, Annie Leibowitz, and Tony Snowden. And that's the short list.

Well, you get my point, of course. All of that influence enables me to shoot portraits reflecting who you are, and what you want to say about you. I don't use formulas, formats, or standard styles. Above all, it's never about me. It's all about you, is it not?
